How to read your Analytics

Indie Courses tracks web analytics for your course page using Plausible. You can use these analytics to improve and guide your marketing efforts if you know how to read them.

Overview

The overview section

The overview section gives you the aggregated traffic analytics at one glance. It shows you:

  1. How many unique visitors visited your course page.
  2. How many sales you generated from these visitors.
  3. The conversion rate of visitors to sales.
  4. The revenue your course generated in the given timeframe.

Traffic Origins

The traffic origins section

The Traffic Origins section shows you where your traffic came from, how many sales you generated from these visitors, and the conversion rate of each traffic origin.

This information is useful for identifying traffic sources that convert well and finding the channels where you need to improve your messaging.

UTM Parameters

The UTM parameters section

We track UTM parameters that you add to the course link and show you the results in the Traffic Origins section. You can filter by these UTM parameters:

  • UTM Medium
  • UTM Source
  • UTM Campaign
  • UTM Content
  • UTM Term

Origin Countries

The origin countries section

The Origin Countries section shows you in which countries your traffic originated. This is useful for finding the countries where your followership is the largest and also which languages might be most useful in your marketing campaigns.
